WF Youth Dig Deep at the Stake Community Conference Service Project

A Community Conference always leads to a community service project in our stake. And this time, the Wake Forest Youth headed to Wake Forest Presbyterian Church’s Giving Garden. The WFPC Giving Garden provides more than 4,000 pounds of food to those in need in our community. The youth dug into Saturday’s project by pulling out tomato plants, preparing the ground and planting fall collard greens.

Joanie who helps manage the garden commented that she loves when our youth come. She says the first things they do when they arrive is ask, where can I help? And then they just get to work.

Highlights of the day were probably driving the big red tractor, eating green tomatoes and putting little green plants in the ground. “Everyone we worked with there was so happy and kind,” said Will Johnson, “It was fun doing service with friends.”

Oct. 11th is the big sweet potato harvesting event at the WFPC Giving Garden. Mark your calendars now to join in the fall fun!!!
