Speakers at the Wake Forest Community Stake Conference Testify of Christ
Attendees at the September 6th and 7th conference felt an out pouring of the Spirit as speakers testified of the truths and power in Looking Unto Christ, and Walking with Christ the session’s theme.
Stake President First Counselor Robert Foster spoke Sat. night emphasizing that we’re doing well. That the Lord loves us. He said, the goal of life is now to become. To become one that can stay in the presence of God. He reminded us that when we make and keep covenants our confidence can wax strong in God’s presence. That regular worship in the House of the Lord increases our capacity for both virtue and learning.
Serving in the church was the theme of Stake President Second Counselor Matthew Coombs remarks. He encouraged members to accept callings and participate fully knowing God will qualify who He calls.
Several members of the young adult ward shared their testimonies including newly baptized members DeAndre Jones and Kyleigh Morris. This conference’s music selection included beautiful renditions of Savior Redeemer of My Soul by Joshua E. Kohl and His Eye is on the Sparrow by Johnathan Abbot. Members and guests were moved by the many additional musical performances from our primary, youth and adults.
In the foyers, before each session, representatives from Woman’s Support Group, Addiction Recovery Program, Pathways, Self Reliance and JustServe were available to answer any questions about these programs offered through the Wake Forest Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
