Stake President, Will Thornton Remembers President Russell M. Nelson

With deep sorrow, I share the news of the passing of our beloved prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

My faith in Jesus Christ has grown immeasurably through President Nelson’s inspired teachings and Christlike example. His unwavering devotion to God and his lifelong example of loving and serving others have strengthened our congregations here in Wake Forest and will bless generations to come.

I am deeply grateful for his loving invitations—to attend the temple often, to center our lives on Jesus Christ as we “Hear Him,” to think celestial, and to prepare for the Savior’s Second Coming by gathering Israel on both sides of the veil.

Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his extraordinary life of discipleship and service.
