Faith and Community Leaders Dinner Focuses on Collaboration Efforts
On January 25, 2026, faith leaders, local government officials, and community organizations gathered in Wake Forest to discuss pressing needs in our area—including food insecurity, homelessness, and substance abuse.
Hosted by the Wake Forest Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the meeting brought together representatives from multiple faith traditions and public agencies to focus on one goal: working better together to support individuals and families in need.
The discussion highlighted both immediate challenges and long-term solutions, with an emphasis on prevention, recovery support, and coordinated service efforts. Local officials shared how vital faith communities are in strengthening social support networks across our region.
Walter Bowers, Director of Governor Josh Stein’s Charlotte Office, shared:
“The interfaith community partnership is an amazing platform that allows for cross collaboration between various faith groups and local elected officials. It reflects the fact that we are better together.”
Leaders from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints expressed gratitude for the strong interfaith and civic participation and reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration and service.
This gathering marked the beginning of ongoing dialogue and action to improve quality of life throughout the Wake Forest community.
