Experience His Light: Finding Christ in the Traditions We Already Love
Dear Friends and Saints,
We are entering a glorious time of year! Our hearts are full of gratitude, our souls are full of joy, and our countenance is full of goodwill. While it is a season where it is easy to look outward and have love for our neighbors it is also a time where we can get lost in our commitments and forget the true meaning of Christmas.
Jesus Christ is the "light of the world" and we can experience His light in things we are already doing. As you go to your child’s band concert, invite a neighbor to come along. When you send out your holiday cards make a few extra to deliver to a local nursing home. When you buy groceries for your Christmas dinner, buy a little more to donate to a food pantry. These are simple ways to add meaning to traditions you already have that won’t bring more stress but will bring an added measure of joy. Joy to your family and joy to those around you
With so many activities in such a small amount of time, we don’t wish for more experiences, just more meaningful ones. When we couple our traditions with inspired prompts, messages, and activities that are focused on the Savior, the busyness of the season transforms into experiences of light. We invite you to make this season a little brighter. We invite you to find ways in your family traditions to think outward. We invite you to Light the World.
