Moving Mountains Together— A Powerful Wake Forest Stake Relief Society Devotional

Seventy-five sisters gathered as Sisters in Zion for a special Wake Forest Stake Relief Society Devotional. It was a beautiful evening filled with the Spirit. We welcomed special guest speaker Donna Brown from the Zebulon Ward.

Sister Brown led us through a vulnerable activity of sharing the challenges or "mountains" in our lives and what it would look like to surrender them to the Lord through four key steps:

•Identify the Mountain: What am I facing today?

• Seek Wise Counsel: Where can I find blueprints for navigating these mountains? Who is a modern woman of faith I look up to who can help?

• Surrender and Act: What would it look like to truly surrender this mountain to the Lord in prayer today? What is one small faith-filled action I can take today that shows I trust Jesus.

•Remember the Miracles: What miracles have I witnessed in my life when trusting Him.

Several sisters shared moving stories of giving their struggles over to the Lord and the miracles that followed.

At the conclusion, Brother Robert Henderson, from the Stake Presidency expressed his gratitude for being at the meeting, for the example of the great women in the room and for inspiring him to better recognize the small miracles that happen everyday.

It was an uplifting evening for everyone in attendance.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” —Matthew 17:20
