Celebrating Over 7 Years of Community: The ShareWear Community Event Returns This August!

It’s that time of year again! For over seven years, our community has come together for the annual ShareWear Community Event—a giant, 100% free community exchange designed to help neighbors support neighbors. Thanks to your incredible generosity and support over the years, this event has grown into a cherished local tradition that continues to bless hundreds of individuals and families across Wake Forest and surrounding areas.

Inspired by the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37), our mission is simple: to share what we have, serve one another, and show love to our neighbors.

Whether you're looking to declutter, shop for your family, or volunteer your time, here is everything you need to know to get involved this year!

What is ShareWear?

ShareWear is a free community giveaway event where local residents donate gently used items, and anyone and everyone in the community is invited to come "shop" completely for free. There are no income requirements, no catch, and no cost—just a welcoming space for everyone to share and receive.

Key Dates & Schedule

1. DONATION DAY — Friday, August 7, 2026

  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • What to Bring: Clear out those closets! We are accepting new or gently used clothing, toys, books, school supplies, non-perishable food, and household goods.

2. GIVEAWAY & SHOPPING DAY — Saturday, August 8, 2026

  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Details: Everyone is welcome! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to browse and shop for free. Everything available is 100% FREE of charge.

3 Ways You Can Help Make This Year a Success

An event of this scale takes a whole village! Here’s how you can lend a hand:

1. Volunteer Your Time

2. Loan Us Folding Tables

We are looking to borrow rectangular folding tables to help display donations on shopping day. If you have any tables we can borrow, please contact Sydney directly at 919-912-9844 or 801-884-7257.

3. Help Get the Word Out

Word-of-mouth is our biggest strength! Please share this post with your neighborhood groups, HOA chats, church circles, and social media pages. Let folks know where they can drop off donations on Friday and remind them to come shop on Saturday.
